How to connect to FTP (active and passive mode)?
Good afternoon.
Can you tell me how to solve the problem of connecting to the FTP server?
Given. Some unknown and it is not known how the configured ftp server. Workstation behind a router.
I'm trying to connect from a workstation in "standard" passive mode. It seems to be connected, but hangs on "receiving a list of directories". OK! switch to active.
We connect in the active, we seem to be logging in, but we see the answer "500 I won't open a connection to 192.168. (internal ip of the workstation) (only to (external ip of the workstation))
I tried to register the internal ip of the workstation in the DMZ of the router. Why -there is no
effect. What other recommendations can there be?)
There is a server in the external network where you can organize an ftp proxy. Will it help? and can anyone have favorite prepared scripts?

active mode is not possible if the local network is separated from the tyrnet by NAT, which is what the ftp connection tells you about.
see why the list of directories hangs, because after a long f*** with the active mode, your ftp will still hang on transferring the contents of the directory.
if possible, connect via ftp-shell and manually pick the commands.
