The problem with xen, when the link on the port disappears for a while and it is restored, the network is not restored on xen and all its VMs, either a reboot or a local connection and restarting the network service helps.

What do you mean it's not recoverable? Links in the VM remain in down or packets do not go or addresses are not obtained?
