How to connect an HP MFP to Windows XP if it is defined as "Unknown Device"?
There is a new HP LaserJet Pro M125ra MFP. I came to connect this MFP to a facility where there is a computer based on Windows XP with an old HP 2015 printer connected to it via USB. I disconnected the old printer from the cables and connected the new MFP to the same cables. It would seem, install the driver and everything should work. I started installing the drivers from the disk supplied, the installer asked me to connect the MFP to the computer, but it was already connected. I noticed that in the device manager the MFP is defined as an "unknown device". I tried to roll on this "unknown device" drivers both from the disk manually and from the site - it does not help. I read on some forum that the problem is with the USB cable. I bought an expensive shielded cable - it does not help. It is interesting that another similar object has the same situation, and on the third object, everything immediately worked (it was not me who installed it, but the user, but he didn’t do any dances with tambourines, and even the USB cable was normal). Please help me figure it out.

Yes, the reason is that the user connected the USB cable to the device at the moment when the installer asked him, and did not hurry to do it as the author.
