How to connect a computer and laptop to transfer files?

I recently purchased a laptop, having difficulty connecting them to the same network. The computer is connected to the Wi-Fi router via a network cable, the laptop is directly connected to the Wi-Fi.

Tried to deal with the shared access to the folder, did not work. The laptop sees the computer, but the folder is empty.
I tried on the advice from the Internet to connect directly the computer and laptop with a patch cord, register the IP, they ping but there is still no access to the folder.

I tried to put a dlna server on the computer, set it up, but there are only empty folders.
What is the easiest way to connect and transfer a bunch of files from a computer to a laptop?)

I even tried using Filezilla, installed Virtual Server on my computer, enabled ftp in the settings and added the desired folder, but could not connect due to closed port 21.

There were similar problems with "left" Windows, where "cool specialists" in the distribution kit made some tweaks, removed some components to reduce the distribution kit, ...
If your question is one-time - transfer the files via a flash drive, via the Internet and the cloud, . ..
If permanent - reinstall the "left" Windows from another distribution.
