It is real, but it is more technologically advanced and more reliable to install 6 terminals, even if they are based on RPi.
Let me explain - to use 1 computer is to have 1 point of failure - the computer is covered - 6 jobs are covered. No business needs this kind of bullshit.

There was such a program - ASTER.
Capricious and buggy, but on Windows XP it did up to 10 jobs on the basis of one computer.
It was used at the Russian Post, in particular at the PKD.
The latest version plows on Windows 7.
