How to competently create alerts in Linux?

Good day, dear Toaster users!
The essence of the idea is to run some script on a PC and go to drink coffee. At the end of all cases, I want to hear the signal. But I don't want to run GUI players. I want this process to work against the background without buns and pass out by itself.
Suppose at the moment there is such an option:
play /usr/share/sounds/KDE-Im-User-Auth.ogg
The sox package was used for this.
It would also be great to pull out a pop-up text notification. Standard. By simple means. Please, if it's not difficult, tell me where to dig
