How to competently and optimally backup files on linux?

I have all the data in the system on one HDD. Previously, working on Windows, I did this. I stuck a second similar disk. Total Commander compared them and made asymmetric synchronization. The contents of the second disk with a backup were synchronized once a week with the main one, and all current project files were in the cloud.
On Linux, I have not found a way to compare two hard drives. Advise me how to build a whole disk backup technology on the new OS. Thank you.

@engine9

rsync does a great job of doing both one-way and two-way sync.
