How to choose the format of 3D models for display on the site?
The essence of the idea: on the pages of the site there is a canvas in which a 3D scene should be displayed. Models are loaded into the scene based on some configs.
I decided to use TREE.JS for implementation. Here, in fact, everything works, the scene is formed, lighting and a camera are added, everything is rendered ..
Having rummaged through the tree.js docks, I decided to use the glTF format for models.
I connected a model loader to the scene, found a couple of models on the net and loaded them into my scene - everything works, beauty!
And then a problem suddenly appeared: in 3DS max I created a test model, applied textures to it, but in "max" there is no built-in exporter to glTF ...
It turned out that there is a plugin for "max" from babylon.js, which allegedly exports to glTF. In practice, this plugin exports the model without textures...
Maybe I should use a different format for models? Can you suggest another 3D editor with a simpler interface than 3DS max?
Models are planned not to be very complex, without animation (although it may be in the future), but with a large set of materials (wood, glass, metal, gold, marble, etc.)
