How to choose the actual path in Game Dev?

Hello, I am a game developer, not a professional, but I have some experience - I know languages along and across JS as well as C # (as you know, the main language for the unit, the choice was determined). Now I am experiencing a period in my life, I need funds. But I don’t want to work FOR SOMEONE, working as a front or back end does not attract me, I want to deal only with game development and my own projects. Actually, the first question is which path in game development is the most profitable, and where now, a single person can earn money by making a quality product, at minimal cost (this point is very important because at the moment I can only allow a developer account on any of the platforms ). Among the possible paths, I chose two for myself: the first is PC, namely Steam and GOG (development on Unity, because I understand it well), the second is the HTML5 games industry (I rummage in JS) - i.e. the platforms are completely different - games in their specifics will also be completely different, which means you need to choose one thing and dig, go deeper. What to choose
in order to translate the hobby into work and not be left without pants after the release of the product (there are no funds for marketing), where is it more realistic to get the first money and earn money? And what is more important now.
ZY It’s impossible to choose everything, because the games on the PC and on the web are different, I don’t want to be sprayed - gameplay, genre, etc., so you need to choose one thing and fill your hand - either games on the PC, or html5.
(I did not consider mobile platforms, but if you know something or it suits me, share it)

1. "Hello, I'm a game developer, not a professional, but I have some experience - I know languages along and across JS as well as C #"
2. "Now I'm experiencing a period in my life, I need funds. But I don't want to work FOR SOMEONE , working on the front or backend does not attract me, I want to deal only with game development and my own projects."
3. "Where is it now that a single person can earn money by making a quality product, at minimal cost (this point is very important because at the moment I can only allow a developer account on any of the platforms)."
You are confusing business and technical skills. The fact that you are a good developer has nothing to do with the fact that you can release a profitable product. A business where you can create a product and make money on it is run by businessmen. These are other skills, not technical ones. And these are not the skills that you can get by asking a question on a toaster, or reading 1-2 books. Therefore, no one will tell a successful recipe how to become a millionaire as an ordinary (albeit good) programmer.
Of course, you can try to release a few games, the fastest way to release them to the masses is really large platforms like mobile development under googlemarket / microsoft shop / apple or something like steam. A stand-alone project requires a lot of marketing to get noticed.
But you seem to be trying to sit on two chairs, believing that you yourself can do all the work of "uncle", and therefore do not want to work for "uncle", but at the same time you immediately ask a question that shows that you have no idea what "uncle" actually makes money really appear.
Therefore, I would recommend just trying to get a job in a good company that develops games, gain experience in distributing them.
