How to choose an inexpensive surge protection UPS for 850W PSU?
Hello. Help with advice.
I'm going to buy a UPS for my work computer.
At one time I bought an "unsuccessful" powerful 850 W PSU for a future stock.
As a result, the power reserve was not needed, and there was a problem with choosing an inexpensive UPS.
PSU 850W PSU DELTA GPS-850CB-A (with active PFC).
A UPS is needed ONLY to protect against short-term (seconds), but frequent (several times a week) power outages in the network.
Battery operation is not expected - only a quick shutdown on command from the software.
This is the computer configuration.
Intel Core i5-4670K, 3.40GHz
Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3, Z87
DDR3, 8GB (2x4GB), PC3-12800
NEC MultiSync EA232WMi, 23"
There is no separate video card - if I buy something separate, then only the lower-middle segment (for rare games).
I suppose, but I doubt to take one of these:
Powercom Imperial IMP-1200AP
Ippon Smart Power Pro 1400
Or something even a little weaker.
A similar config in the office with a 600 W PSU (also APFC) is saved from "clicks" from the APC Back 500 RS UPS and nothing.

The power that is written on the PSU does not really matter. What matters is the power that it gives to the computer, and accordingly it actually takes it from the mains. In your case, this is about 150 watts. Almost any UPS is suitable for your task.
IMHO, Powercom Imperial IMP-1200AP and Ippon Smart Power Pro 1400 are overweight, extra costs. You don't need mains voltage stabilization, you don't need 20 minutes of battery life.
UPS 500VA Back APC or UPS 600VA Ippon Back Office will give 4 minutes to turn off. You simply won't notice second "walruses" of electricity. Do not forget to check the battery after 2-3 years and replace if necessary.
I use Powercom different models from kids powercom bnt-400ap
to powercom kin-2200ap work fine for more than 5 years, they don’t complain about non-native batteries.
Attention: on linux, the auto-shutdown setting is full of underwater rake, if you have linux OS, then it is better to take a UPS from another company.
