How to charge a lithium battery from a tablet?

A lithium battery was torn out of a broken tablet, it looks like the battery itself, plus a scarf soldered to the battery terminals, i.e. the red and black wires are the output from the board, not directly from the battery:

The question is, is this a protection board, or a charge controller? Those. how can I charge the battery - through an intelligent charger in the "LiPo" mode, or just apply 5 volts, and the controller on the scarf will figure it out?

it all depends on the manufacturer, if you are not a fan of playing roulette, then it is better to connect it to the charger.
