How to cache files in RAM?

There is a Windows server 2012R2 scheme ->SMB share ->local network->Windows 7 client
For the test, I tried to create a RAM disk and make an SMB share on it - the speed of opening projects on the client exceeds all expectations, but the RAM disk has a limited capacity and gives only previously manually copied projects. Memory on the server is possible up to 100GB RAM. Yes, the server itself tries to cache files the first time it is opened, but quickly clears the memory. It would be nice to find an opportunity to implement the scheme: turned to the project -> cached the project in RAM-> no one applied for a long time, removed the cache from RAM.

Kingston ValueRAM 16GB DDR3 PC3-14900 (KVR18R13D4/16)
It will cost around $200. Isn't it cheaper to buy an SSD or even a pair in RAID0 if performance is so critical? Well, if you really want a RAM disk, then you should look towards Linux and Samba, because. there is no support for such experiments from MS and is unlikely to be.
