How to be more productive on Upwork?

Guys who works in the field of design on Upwork? Share your experience. I read advice on the topic in a wonderful blog , but so far it does not work out normally. They write that as soon as he took the first order, it becomes easier to spin. I took two tenders for $ 10 and after them it was cut off. It's just like I'm being trolled. Even the first / second one I often leave an offer, I make an original cover letter, I set the price either of the customer or lower. Almost spent all the connections already - zero in the end. Let me know what else can be improved. What am I missing?

1. Price;
2. Quality;
3. Portfolio;
4. Timing;
The order may vary depending on the customer, and a couple more points may also be added. Maybe the problem is in this direction? $10 is one thing? Ordered, paid, forgotten. And those who order more expensive projects will think a hundred times before choosing any freelancer.
