How to audit a file server?

There was a need to keep periodic reports - whether a certain file / folder has changed, who has changed, etc.
And everything must be organized on a ready-made Windows file server. Or migrate the entire hard drive with NTFS and access rights from under AD to something like Synology (for example).
Began to search - came across Netwrix File Server Change Reporter.
Are there alternatives?

@mayorovp

Windows allows you to audit using standard tools (File properties - security - advanced - audit, it's also worth looking into group policies).

it is also worth enabling the file server option

also asked a question recently. I came across an article on Habré: habrahabr.ru/post/150149
(window audit + self-written scripts for creating convenient logs)

Good afternoon!
Saw the question. You probably solved your problem over the years :)
But the problem is relevant, so let's put in our two cents - https://habr.com/ru/company/searchinform/blog/505766/
We talked about the functionality last year, now it has pulled itself up .
And by the way, we will soon have a webinar on the topic of auditing file storages, we will announce it on our website.
