How to apply slices (snapshots) to a basic virtual disk (.VDI) in VirtualBox?

That is, I already have several of these sections, in general they weigh several gigabytes! I need to somehow apply them so that all changes are made to the virtual disk, and these snapshots themselves disappear. Well, you got me :) How to do it?

Expand the desired snapshot and delete the rest.
If the pictures are branching i.e. on a "clean machine" they installed one application, took a picture, then rolled back, installed another application and took a picture again - automatic merging of these two pictures is impossible.
If, on the virtual machine, just every 3 days, snapshots were taken for backup, then old snapshots can be deleted - all changes will merge into the "current state"
