How to add menu item in Joomla 1.5 control panel?

Hello, I need to add a new menu item to the main menu of the control panel, but I can’t figure out where and how this is done. I have been familiar with Joomla for a couple of days, so the question may seem silly.
I created the component, it works directly by the link, but I still don’t understand how to display it here.
