How to add a timeline to the map?

Good afternoon!
Such a question is how to add a time line and a route to the map (maybe a simple line).
I am graduating from the Faculty of History and while writing my thesis, I had the idea to add the routes of several people to the map so that I could track where they were in a certain period of time.
Google search does not give anything specific, only general cases of GPS routes and paths. The closest I found in Yandex maps is a simple line drawing. The ideal solution to the problem would be a timeline map, moving the slider would move points along the route.
If such services do not come to mind, then programs that are worth paying attention to would be useful.

written in script. Depending on the slider, the position on the map changes. You won't find anything ready-made.

There is one site called CartoDB. Allows you to overlay your data on a map (for example, OpenStreetMap) and present them in different ways. If the data contains timestamps, you can animate it. For details, see docs.cartodb.com/cartodb-editor/maps/#torque Well, in general: https://cartodb.com/
Although I doubt that the question is still relevant...
