How to access the Glusterfs API?

The glusterfs documentation says that api has appeared. At the same time, for

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gluster/glusterfs-3.9
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install glusterfs-server

version 3.9 is installed. But glustereventsd doesn't show up. Installation from github stops:
