How significant is the edx certificate?

Hello. I think many have heard about MIT courses on EDX, so I myself want to go and get a certificate, but I would like to know how significant this certificate is compared to a diploma and how it is welcomed by employers.

Doesn't matter at all. But a diploma in IT is interesting to employers only as a fact of its availability (to settle legal formalities, possibly requiring higher education).
What matters is what's in your head and what you know how to do. On the other hand, a certificate of completion of an online course is a small bonus, as it shows your interest in self-education, which is necessary as air in IT.
