How rational is it to make the MVP version of the product in the format of a mobile site instead of a mobile application?
I have several ideas for mobile applications, some of which have already been architected and designed. We talked with the developers, it turned out that it costs a lot of money, which is not a fact that it will pay off financially. So, instead of an application, I had an idea to file a mobile version of the site for a start and test the idea. How rational is this decision? Thank you.

in most cases, there is no point in making a mobile application.
The site will do the same regardless of the mobile device.
Yes, and it’s easier for users to open a site than to install an unknown program on their phone.
I do not agree with the option that there is no point in making a mobile application. I'm almost always at my computer, so it's more convenient for me to open websites. But for a long time there has been an overweight that desktop sites are not needed. First of all, the layout of the mobile version is done. And in general, ordinary users do not want to get into the browser and type in some site in the search engine, they need an icon on the screen that they can click on.
I saw it once: you open the site, and there is only one QR code for downloading the application with a note that the web is dead. This, of course, is extreme, just for information)
How fast is this process of users flowing from sites to applications - you need to look at statistics and dynamics, I don’t have numbers.
To the question that a mobile application costs a lot of money, but a website is not worth it? It seems like the amount of labor costs and salaries of specialists are approximately the same
I think the key question in deciding how much you need functions that can only be implemented in the application. Most likely this is working with files, deployed offline mode of operation, with notifications, maybe someone else will tell you. And of course, the availability of resources for development, both material and human, are still different competencies.
