How many and what level of projects does a web developer portfolio require?

Hello ! My name is Karim and I am 21 years old.
I know there were such questions, but I would like to hear the answers to my case.
A year ago I quit my job, Cause the office was too far from home and worked 10-12 hours a day.
I don't have time for anything.
They promised to issue it officially after the test period (1 month) but did not issue it.
When I said that I would quit immediately, they offered to raise my salary, etc.
But then I decided to leave and left. I don't know if I did it right or not, but I don't regret it.
I worked there for 6-7 months, it was my first job as a programmer.
Since then I have read many books/articles for self-development.
at that company, we used the yii framework of the 1st version (there was no second version then).
and at the moment I'm best at symfony2, vanilla js, angular
and know a little THREE.js but not much :).
I write on js with the babel translator, I used to write on coffeescript but after trying es6 I switched to babel.
English - read only :(, but recently I started to train a little every day.
About 3 years old basic Linux system. Started with debian, now I have gento.
Recently I looked at an ad in my city, and did not see any vacancies for symfony2 or angular At all vacancies ,
they usually ask for yii, and some even ask for 2-3 frameworks and even CMS.I
don’t have a portfolio (I don’t know why I didn’t think about it before), but there is time.Questions
:
1. If I make a portfolio on symfony2/angular, will I be hired where other frameworks ask?
2. How many and what level of projects is required for a portfolio?
3. Is it okay if I use "fish" instead of normal content (image from lorempixel.com , text from lipsum.com) ?
4. Is there any portal to find like-minded people to implement portfolio projects? or do everything yourself?
ps Please don't suggest asking permission from past work to include projects done there in a portfolio.
Firstly, I am sure that I can make better projects than I did before,
Secondly, they will most likely refuse. the director did not allow me to quit and after a while I just said and left (I did not pick up the phone). I don't think it's stupid to let me leave.

Hello Karim.

I recently looked at an ad in my city, and did not see any vacancies for symfony2 or angular.
No need to search in your city. Search either globally, or in the desired city (for example, NY), or in the capital of your country.
At all vacancies, yii is usually asked, and some even ask for 2-3 frameworks and even CMS.
The basic principle: "There are many vacancies, but I am alone, I will choose."
1. If I make a portfolio on symfony2/angular, will I be hired where other frameworks ask?
Yes.
2. How many and what level of projects is required for a portfolio?
Yes, at least zero. The main thing is the interview and resume.
3. Is it okay if I use "fish" instead of normal content (image from lorempixel.com, text from lipsum.com) ?
Nobody is interested in test projects. They may not even be done.
4. Is there any portal to find like-minded people to implement portfolio projects? or do everything yourself?
Do not do this.

Good afternoon Karim, you are not a designer but a programmer. Of course, a portfolio can help you get a job, but nothing more. It makes no sense to make a portfolio on purpose, it’s enough just to show your knowledge at the interview, and the portfolio will already appear over time if you participate in any projects

Holy hedgehogs, who will read all this?
No one is interested in where you worked and why you left there, is it possible to immediately get to the point?
I will answer the question in the title - one good project, better than several bad ones - I think you already knew this without me, but then why ask?
ps I didn’t want to offend you with my answer, but look at things realistically - no one cares what and how you have it, so it’s better to immediately go to the point and ask a question without too much water

Didn't find what you were looking for?
