How long does it take from adding work to the final selection of the artist?

Hello, there is a huge amount of potential work on Upwork.com, in some jobs 20-30 performers are recruited, in others a maximum of 2-3 performers, but even during such periods you have to wait a long time (up to a whole month) until you are hired how to reduce this time?

20-30 is a blessing, snatching an order from 200 Indians is priceless.
Do not reduce in any way, beat yourself up and wait, for me the ideal strategy is to scatter 5-6 applications - go to sleep, wake up, talk to customers from those who responded and take 1-2 projects and start working. Sitting over your application and stupidly waiting is a waste of time.
PS For some applications, the answer came in 9 days and the contractor was chosen. Strictly individual and depends on the customer.
