How is slicing done in CorelDraw (Adobe Illustration)?
Hello!
I randomly got a layout in .cdr. Exporting it to .ai and .psd, since the slicing method did not find it. But in .psd a bunch of merged layers are created, and the fonts are rasterized. Someone may know how or sensibly to translate .cdr > .psd or cut directly into CorelDraw?
Do not offer the first page of Google search results, it did not help.

Export as PDF, just make sure that the color profile is in RGB and in general that the colors are not converted. And PDF can already be opened normally in a chandelier.
None of the vector formats (cdr, ai, svg, eps, etc.) is exported to psd with the ability to edit. These are basically different graphics formats . You should learn about the possibilities of slicing from cdr from your fellow layout designers. designers often have no idea how to cut at all (there are different sites / forums). I haven’t used Corel for a hundred years and I don’t even know if there is functionality similar to Adobe packages.
Possible options are exporting the layout from Corel to EPS or another universal vector format (PDF, SVG, etc.). Further in Illustrator it opens without problems, BUTthere may be problems and distortions if any effects (shadows, blurs, gradients, etc.) were applied in the layout. CorelDRO and Illustrator have long had these inconsistencies and problems can arise in the most unexpected place. Always ask for a preview in a jeep or PNG for comparison - it will be clear whether something has flown or not.
For a long time on the Internet there were talks about how to overtake from Illustrator to Photoshop with maximum preservation of vector shapes. But the process is not 100% perfect and through additional software - Fireworks. I tried and I didn’t like the result, and it’s not worth the time spent.
As I wrote above, it is not possible to translate painlessly into psd. There are converters on the Internet, but they most likely convert with merged and rasterized layers.
I would ask you to send a layout in a convenient format or contact more experienced colleagues =)
