This question arose when migrating a site from Joomla. Now it looks like this: /news/ + id + slug
But there are other options. For example:

• /news/ + dd-mm-yyyy + slug
  
• /news/ + dd-mm-yyyy + id
  
• /news/ + slug
  
• something else from human-readable urls
  

Is there any sensible reading from the evangelists on this topic??

Are you changing the domain too?
If not, it's best to leave it as it is.
For SEO optimization it will be better

If the site has been indexed for a long time, the articles are old and there is at least a little bit of traffic going to them, then the links should not be changed. You will only lose traffic.
