How harmful is the light of a 1-3-5 watt IR diode?

Good afternoon.
Perhaps someone will consider this post non-core in relation to the community, but I believe that indirectly, but there is still something in common.
The essence of the problem is this - I organize video surveillance in the apartment + entrance, with the possibility of night shooting. There are a lot of ready-made options for IR illumination, but they are all made on the basis of 5mm LEDs, which is very cumbersome and inefficient.
I would like to screw one powerful diode, 1, 3, or 5 watts, to the camera. But here the question pops up - will not the constantly (evening, night, cloudy) switched on IR diode harm vision?
The diode is planned to be hung in a corner, under the ceiling, the minimum distance to a person will be about one and a half meters.
Thanks in advance for your kind replies and criticism.

If you want to use a webcam, let me advise you to remove the IR filter from it. At the same time, the color reproduction of the camera suffers, to put it mildly, but the sensitivity in the short-wave infrared range increases dramatically.
I want to warn you - not all cameras will allow themselves to be mocked like that. For example, all the logitechs I disassembled had an IR filter in the form of spraying directly onto the matrix.
In a cheap %chinacam% webcam, the filter looks like this:

The documentation for CREE LEDs says that they are harmless to vision: there is almost no UV in the radiation spectrum, and harm can occur only if you look directly at the LED. The correct diffuser (frosted glass) will help a lot - the light will become soft (the light will become “more”), and you can look at the LED itself without consequences.
