How do I upgrade the D-pad on the Xbox 360 remote?
Well, actually, a subject. A good remote control, but the cross has two drawbacks - in many instances, one or two arms work indistinctly, and a tendency to idle diagonals. There are recipes on the Internet on how to improve it. Who tried? What really works?

I answer myself again. A copy of my review from hotline.ua.
Just in case, I'll write how to fix the cross.
We notice which shoulders are super sensitive and which are glitchy.
We cut out such a design from plastic with a thickness of ≈0.4 mm (dacron packaging from the remote control?). Square 19×19, a hole in the form of a square 7×7 is cut out in the center. From the corners we remove the "chamfer" of the order of 2 ... 3 mm. We disassemble the remote control with a PH1 screwdriver (attention, one of the screws is under the sticker with the serial number) and put this whole structure on the cross-shaped stem of the cross. We cut off those "rays" that correspond to supersensitive directions right up to the very hole.
After that, we cut out “confetti” with a diameter of six millimeters from plastic <0.3 mm thick (duct tape? a blister from medicines?) and glue it with “Moment” on the board in the center of the cross.
It may happen that everything is perfect, but one diagonal is called with great force. In this case, we disassemble the cross (we unscrew the two screws and squeeze the latches with tweezers), find the ledge corresponding to the OPPOSITE diagonal, and clean off some material from the ledge itself and from the place where it gets up.
After this alteration, the chances of getting an idle diagonal in the heat of the game were significantly reduced, and the “oak” shoulders began to be pressed humanly.
