What threatens the window in the system unit?
I want to realize a school dream - to make a system unit with a side window and backlight, but will it harm me or the computer? I disassembled laptops and they are all shielded. Do I need to close the window with a metal grill?
Thank you.

Well, if you cut the window correctly without spoiling the air flow, then there will be no problems.
I remember earlier I even saw cases entirely made of plexiglass and everything works fine in them, there are also so-called "bench" cases where everything is open and also works fine, and a lot of people sit without a side cover. So if you do not have a super-loaded gaming computer or a server that is very demanding on cooling, then there are no problems, at least hang components on the wall.
Will damage your computer if:
1. Causes poor cooling performance. For example, the internal structure of your modding insert will block airflow.
2. You somehow, unknowingly, make your backlight a source of electrical noise for the computer or create an unnecessary load on the PSU . It will
harm you if:
1. The window created will become a conductor of noise from inside the PC case to you. Noise, if my memory fails me, is the 3rd most important harmful production factor after radiation and chemical poisoning, followed by what seems to be vibration.
Many computers work with the side wall removed (including mine) - no problem.
I think that with an iron wall, that with a window - you will not feel the difference in work.
