How does remote desktop work?
The bottom line: there is a Windows VPS, it is possible to communicate with the server by setting up a remote desktop from your PC. On this table there will be a program that takes a screenshot after n-th time and searches for the desired element on this screen. Question: will the program take screenshots and see the entire desktop if I don't connect to it?
As I understand it, Windows VPS is an "almost" full-fledged computer and there is always a desktop and the program can see it, or am I mistaken ...
I would be glad if someone explains.

Will not.
The desktop is a graphical user interface.
There is a user - there is a desktop.
No user - no desktop.
Connected via RDP - the user is logged in.
Disconnected - the user logged out, the programs continue to work, but the desktop image is not displayed, because there is no one to display it.
