How does an IPTV set-top box get a list of channels?
Good afternoon! If anyone knows, tell me how the IPTV set-top box receives a list of channels, the program that is on, how long they are on, and so on, in general, all the information that is displayed on the TV screen. pim sm is used.
If it is possible, then paint everything down to the channel level. Thanks

It has nothing to do with pim, not the OSI model in general. Through pim, you only deliver traffic, not affect its content.
The list of channels is taken via HTTP from the provider's server at a specific URL. On the console, there is simply an operator firmware in which this appeal is embedded. Other information can also be taken (current time, TV program)
The name of the program and its duration is taken from the information that is transmitted in the transport stream. Read about MPEG-TS , there are a lot of service data there. To add it, you need equipment on which you will disassemble and re-form the traffic flow.
