An active cable, unlike a passive cable, requires additional power in order to transmit a signal over a greater distance.
As for the bum vr, I can say that it doesn’t make much sense - Samsung odyssey + will not be much more expensive (if you take a used one or at discounts), but the quality is an order of magnitude better (I bought it on Amazon in December 2019 for $ 220 + delivery turned out 18k rubles)
