How do I get started with iLO service on HP servers??
Good afternoon. They asked me to create a network in a small organization, since we are building from 0, I decided to buy HP server equipment, before that there was a self-made server on the i5 knee.
The server came preinstalled with WinServer 2012 R2 OS.
Model HP ProLiant ML150 Gen9
Before that, I had no dealings with a normal server, I began to read the possibilities and became interested in the iLO service, it seems like it is free for this generation in the basic license.
According to the instructions, I went into the settings, added a user, looked that the IP address (given by DHCP) - 10.1.0.91 is attached, but I can’t get into the web-face through it - nothing opens.
Calling technical support is even somehow embarrassing, tell me how to start working with the service, where you can see about other features-features of this equipment, because under the word "HP server" I hope not only the assembled hardware is hidden, but also some additional features .
PS I don't have a login-password to access iLO.

iLo login \ password is usually attached to the server on a paper plate. At ilo the separate network interface - the address is issued to it?
If there are two interfaces, then it looks like ilO is fumbling with the network adapter with the system. That is, you have the 1st network adapter out of two - it works on both iLO and the OS. iLO, if it sees its IP in the network packet, then it takes it to itself, it does not reach the OS.
Do you receive pings to the address assigned by iLO? You only need to ping and open the iLO web interface from other machines, it will not be available from the server itself.
To be honest, I already forgot how it is done ...
but damn HP has wonderful manuals and a lot of information on support ..
here are literally the first Google links:
One
Two
1. We connect to the network, I recommend setting a separate vlan for ilo with separate addressing
2. During boot, press F8, we get into the ilo settings menu
3. Network section - NIC / TCP-IP
4. Set the network parameters to taste, press F10 to save
5. User section - set the username, login / password, set the privileges to your liking. press F10 to save
6. Reboot, ping, drive the clogged IP into the browser (with HTTPS), enjoy.
Browser recommend Internet Explorer
Server OS Windows 2012
ping is on, TTL = 128.
Work OS Windows 7 Prof
ping is on, TTL = 128 Neither http://10.1.0.91 nor https://10.1.0.91
is opened on the Server and for the
user i know ttl=128 is this the default ttl of windows???
