How can I quickly start making money on oDesk?

Please tell me how you can quickly start making money on oDesk. Perhaps this is the largest freelance exchange, but how can a beginner enter there, because the competition is huge.
At the moment I know/can:
1 HTML, CSS
2 some Javascript, JQuery
3 Create sites on WordPress
Perhaps there is a demand for some new technologies/frameworks (for example, PhoneGar), what else should be studied so that you can make good money?

It’s also worth adding that it’s hard to find orders with a zero profile, so you need to fill it to the maximum:
1) Add the projects you worked on to the portfolio (screenshot + small comment), if there are projects without UI, you can screenshot a piece of code
2) Go as far as possible more tests in areas you know. This service will help here: odesk-tests.com
3) Choose suitable keywords in the title of your profile (they can affect the position of your profile in the search). And not necessarily there should be only technologies or frameworks. You can mention the activities you were engaged in (scraping, testing, etc.)
4) Spend bids only on tasks in which the customer has already paid (the list of the customer's past projects is indicated at the bottom of the task)
As for the technologies worth studying:
1) First, study what you are interested
in 2) Focus on technologies with an average or high entry threshold (mobile development, data analysis, scraping, legacy technologies (if you satisfy point 1), etc. .). This will allow you to stand out among the "Indians"
3) Read the oConomy section (there are a lot of interesting statistics on oDesk): oConomy
Actually, you can give more advice. This is probably one of the main ones.

In your case, it's not even about the entrance, but about choosing a niche. With your knowledge, there are a lot of people there. But their level and commitment can be much lower.
Try to monitor applications and try to answer them in the forefront. At the same time, study some technology (phonegap) to become an expert in your niche.
