How can I just compile an apk file for android from a project on Github?

I want to run an application on ARcore on my smartphone. There are projects of such applications on github, but there is no simple apk file, and even more so there is no application in the playmarket. How can I, a person with zero programming knowledge, download the sources and compile them into apk, just to download and run the application on my smartphone?

With zero knowledge - in any way. Especially if there is no manual in the readme of the project on github. Every step you take will be accompanied by a ton of questions on the toaster. Do you need it?
By the way, arcore is not an application, but a library.
