How to hide buttons in Navigation Bar?

In many applications, if necessary, they hide the Navigation Bar, there are no problems with this.
But in some games (like 1010!) the Navigation Bar itself is not hidden, but the buttons (back, home, multitasking) are hidden, becoming black / transparent to match the color of the Navigation Bar itself. But when pressed, they turn white again.
How to implement such behavior?

If I understand you correctly, you need the View.SYSTEM_UI_FLAG_LOW_PROFILE flag .
