How are the two traffic source reports in Google Analytics different: Channels/Referral and Referrals?

In the Google Analytics Reports menu, there is a block called "Traffic Sources".

In the drop-down item "All traffic" there are two sub-items: "Channels" and "Referrals". If you go to "Channels", then there, among all others, we will find a channel called "Referrals". So the problem is that the list of referral links in "Referrals" and "Referrals" will be different. As well as the number of senances will also be different.
How do these two types of traffic differ, why do they differ in their content at all?

On a properly configured account, they are the same. I have numbers and content on 2 sites that are identical both there and there. Check out the sites included in these lists.

I don’t know why, but GA classifies social networks as referrals in the second report.
