Got a giant nvidia icon in the bottom bar of Ubuntu?

After resizing, the icon remains giant and breaks everything.
Is it possible to somehow reduce it or remove it altogether?

I suspect that the nvidia driver maintainers slipped the image larger than it should be.

Complete removal and reinstallation of the Nvidia package helped

sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia*
