Any laptop with Intel Core i5 / i7 + 4Gb RAM + discrete video (for games it's better from nvidia, there will be no problems with PhysX) will pull modern toys at the minimum. For more, you need a budget several times larger.

I bought myself a Lenovo Y560P at the beginning of the year (as mistako advises above). So far, no problems =) I don't play modern games much, but Half Life 2 and episodes, Fallout 3 runs at good settings in 1920x1080 without any problems. According to the Win7 version, performance points are 5.9 (limited by the disk), graphics - 6.7, processor - 7.5 (I have a version with i7) (the maximum you can earn is like 7.9). When playing for a long time, it never overheated, although it’s not hot here in Murmansk, frankly speaking =) It cost a little more than 30 tons, but this is considering the fact that I bought 8 GB right away.
The only thing I didn’t like was the screen, which doesn’t want to be calibrated at least close to my main monitor. However, there is an HDMI output, which allows you to connect a monitor via a “normal” DVI, and not D-SUB =)

Lenvo Y560P . So far the best, in terms of price / quality ratio, that is on the market.

market.yandex.ru/model.xml?hid=91013&modelid=7023667 - like it. Perhaps Lenovo is more powerful in terms of processor, but a 15-inch one.

Thanks for the advice!
The laptop is needed by the younger sister :) And this is Sims, Dragon Age, etc., it is unlikely that something more loaded.
I think we’ll already buy it on the weekend and they’ll stop nagging me by SMS / icq / phone :)
