I am faced with a choice of further activities (Gamedev or Web development). What is developing faster now, and where is the salary more. What is the future of gaming technology?

I can speak for myself, as I work in both industries.
Gamedev is much richer in terms of tasks for programming. The concept itself is quite broad, as an example, we can give a list of professions from vacancies:
Animation Systems Programmer
Gameplay Programmer
Engine Programmer
Rendering Programmer
Senior Backend Engineer
UI Programmer
Effects (FX) Programmer
I.e. There is room to grow professionally.
The web is good for large projects using innovations.
