Can't login to WiFi router admin panel?

Hello.
There is a TP-LINK TL WR840N modem router.
I can't login to the admin panel. The documentation says to go to tplinkwifi.net and enter your username / password. I do - it doesn't work. A page is displayed that says "Oops! It looks like you aren't connected to your TP-Link network. Please check your network connection and try again" The
router is connected to the computer directly via a network cable in one of the four ports.
