I don't really understand what you want to get. I used this script:

ftp -i -n севрер <<_END_
user юзер пароль
cd директория
get файл
_END_

Written in Russian letters - replace the meaning.
Starting with "cd directory" - you can enter any FTP protocol commands.
"_END_" is the key string; m.b. any, used twice.
Inside (between "ftp ..." and "_END_" - you can use ${переменная_окружения}and $(команда аргументы). Because of this, the dollar, ё-apostrophe and backslash must be backslashed.
The first line can be written with a backslash: ftp -i -n севрер <<\_END_- then the dollar and ё-apostrophes will not be special. symbols.
