Freakingly slow loading of Opera 11 with large RSS archive
I have been using Opera for a long time exclusively as an RSS aggregator. For surfing I use other browsers. And so for a very long time I sat on the old version 8.54, following the principle "do not touch what works and suits." The eight (within the framework of the specified function) suited almost completely, except for a slightly slowing down full-text search.
For several years, I have accumulated a large archive of feeds from several blogs and forums - a total of about 300K posts.
Well, today the devil pulled me to upgrade to the latest 11.01 :)
The Opera itself was installed quickly and the first thing it said was that "it is necessary to transfer the message base to a new format." Well, it must be so. This took about 3 hours.
Then the progress indicator "Loading the message base" appeared, which moved just monstrously slowly and loaded the processor by 100%. How long this went on, I did not notice, but not less than half an hour. I decided that after converting the database, it updates the index for full-text search. The version seemed to be confirmed by the fact that when the database finally loaded, the search by messages really earned much faster than it was in the eight. In fact, everything is searched in real time.
Then I closed Opera, started it again and ... again this "Loading the database of messages" at the same pace! There is a cross next to the progress indicator (cancel, I suppose?) - but it does not respond to clicks. Proc is 100% loaded.
What to do, others?! Will she start every time for me every hour?
The speed can be judged by this fact: I already managed to google the solution to this problem a little (so far unsuccessfully) and type this question - the database loaded by 45%. What for do I need all these little things of the new version, if it stupidly does not work?
Removing messages from the archive is unacceptable.
