Firebug built into Firefox?

Found that console.log('message') called from a js file does not output message to the firebug console in firefox,
I already read a recent answer on a similar topic, they say firebug is now built into firefox, and where to activate and call it,
the context menu item "Explore an element" that has been around for a long time,
is that what firebug built-in functionality means?
