Fanless board for non HTPC server with sata and gigabit lan?
There was a need to convert the home server (torrent download and file server) to a completely silent system.
As a basis, it was decided to use a nano-itx or pico-itx system, without fans, with gigabit lan and, if possible, leave 4 Sata disks (minimum 2).
After googling, I found several solutions, but maybe someone has already come across and can suggest something else.
Now the main contenders are:
TS-7800
- high price
EPIA-P720 or EPIA-P830
- the first one has 1 Sata the second heatsink with a fan has
the main contender KTA55 / pITX
- has not yet been found on sale, although one store says that it was supposed to arrive in 3 quarter of 2011

Pico ITX for 4 hdd is a pointless undertaking - a large case is needed. It is better to take the asus that you were advised above (I have 6 SATA - I'm happy as an elephant). There is also support for AMDv, by the way. And you can plug in a second network. And HD watch.
In addition, do not forget that passive cooling systems will need a certain amount of air to dissipate heat. If you assemble a similar small system, then with a radiator case (I saw it, but 2 hdd 2.5 '' were only installed there).
www.mitxpc.com/products.asp?cat=99 there is a pretty large selection of fanless mini-ITX motherboards here. I bought from them myself, though I took it with a fan, I'm sorry ...

2 network cards, and LGA1155 is more than possible to cool passively.
