Explain in more detail the meaning of Expire, Refresh, etc. in Bind9?

Bind9 domain zones settings specify TTL, Refresh, Retry, Expire, Minimum. Explain what they are in practice. I understand that this is the time of life, updates, etc ... But can I give examples?
