Ethernet adapter emulation on Windows?

In general, there is a task: under Windows, you need to “create” a virtual network adapter (normal, Ethernet) that would act as a “proxy” for a VPN (PPTP) connection. How can I do that?
PS Yes, I know it's a perversion =) Don't ask why I need it...

Forgive me for my google, but mb will come in handy. Described for 7ki, but why wouldn't it work?

usually "perversions" are the reverse side of the incorrect formulation and solution of the problem

why not ask? what about "proxy"? OpenVPN uses TUN\TAP driver, it is open source and you can use it

You are confusing something ... or you have formulated your Wishlist incorrectly.
Each client of any vpn (be it pptp or openvpn) independently creates (provides mechanisms) for creating a virtual adapter (this is required by the vpn technology itself).
What are you going to use to create a pptp connection? in windows it is 'virtual private network connection', after setup a new adapter is created which 'turns on' after a successful connection.

@foxmuldercp

openvpn itself adds and raises the adapter
