Error Multiprocessor configuration not supported?

It so happened that Asus Bios settings were reset. After that, when you turn on the PC, a BSOD appears with the MULTIPROCESSOR_CONFIGURATION_NOT_SUPPORTED error. I managed to start the system only by selecting the maximum number of processor cores = 2 in the BIOS settings. But as far as I understand, Core i7 has 4 cores. How to solve the problem? Can anyone come across?
