edX courses - what's the difference?
Hello.
This morning I received a mailing list from edX (subscribed after reviews of the Circuits and Electronics course from MIT).
The letter contained an announcement of new courses, including:
Introduction to Computer Science I and
Introduction to Computer Science and Programming
So I think what to sign up for, from the description I really did not understand how the courses differ.

Well, first of all, universities.
Introduction to Computer Science and Programming - MIT's and, apparently, an online analogue of 6.00 , which can be viewed here .
Introduction to Computer Science I is a Harvard course, apparently an introductory course for students of CS and which is an analogue of CS50 , which can be viewed here .
I can’t say anything specific about the courses, because didn't take either one. But if you look at the description of the lectures, it's very subjective:
MIT'ovsky:
- Python
- More emphasis on the theoretical (i.e. various algorithms) part.
Harvard:
- C, they also promise PHP, JavaScript + SQL, CSS and HTML
- More emphasis on the practical part (JavaScript, PHP, SQL, HTML, cryptography).
Firstly, the first option is courses from Harvard, and the second is MIT, and secondly, courses from Harvard are more focused on programming, and from MIT it covers a large area of IT.
PS I advise courses from Harvard where speakers will consider more life examples. Good luck!
