A friend of mine called. Wants to buy a laptop.
But matching in color (!!!) only with Win8. And she wants 7 (out of habit). Heard Downgrade is possible.
Two questions:
1. Is the procedure very complicated?
2. Is downgrade possible only from Pro versions?
PS For ideological reasons, I would not like to put a pirate.

I haven't downgraded for a year, but I don't think anything has changed significantly.
Call 8 800 200 80 02 (toll-free), inform the operator that you want to downgrade from win7 to win8. Here, according to the circumstances, act as they say. It is important that win8 is not activated, answer the questions, perhaps name the serial number, they will give you a new serial number and tell you where to download the iso image of win7, in principle, any licensed image of the same version to which you downgrade will do, only enter your serial number during installation.

Those who buy a new computer with win8 are allowed to downgrade to win7.
But those who “upgrade” (from xp, vista) are given a license for 8 without the right to downgrade to 7.

They stepped on a rake. We bought a laptop with Windows 8, counting on downgrading to 7, but it turned out to be with a single language edition (STD), which, it turns out, does not downgrade to 7.
I had to return it :(
