Does the brightness of the monitor change?
I purchased a monitor - LG IPS Monitor 22EA53 .
I like everything, but there is one problem that manifests itself in Windows and Linux - it spontaneously and very stupidly changes the brightness.
Are you watching a movie? When it's dark, it gets even darker. At the moment when it is light, the brightness increases. What happens is very annoying.
A dark room, a bright face appears in the frame, says something. Monitor waits 3 seconds and increases brightness. The face is gone, the brightness of the already dark room becomes lower.
I sin on stupid marketing bullshit:
Smooth Color Change
The LG IPS Monitor always provides clear images with smooth color changes. It allows you to enjoy any content, such as action movies, web surfing and RPG games for a long time in comfort.

Check if “super energy saving” (SUPER ENERGY SAVING) is accidentally turned on, for me it causes a similar “effect” (the model is really different).
I have exactly the same problem! Same monitor. I have been looking for a solution for a long time.
You need to disable SUPER ENERGY SAVING in the monitor settings.
But this function is not in the menu in the monitor, but in the monitor settings, which are called up by pressing the FUNC key. on the monitor.
Not your monitor, but also LG, maybe answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100121060545AAWfQG1 will help
This garbage is called Dynamic Contrast [Ratio] or simply DCR. Should normally be disabled. On my other monitor, when it is turned on, the brightness control is completely blocked.
Smooth Color Change is, it seems, just a reference to the fact that the monitor on the IPS matrix has nothing to do with it.
Well, if it does not turn off, then the hardcore method is to cover up the light sensor with something.
In my case, the problem was solved through the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel - the Film Mode Detection checkbox was removed there (before that I tried to find the appropriate setting in the Win7 settings, it did not work).
