Does the AppStore accept applications related to encryption?

The AppStore has a ban on porn, piracy. Is there a ban on encryption programs?

It all depends on what and how :)
But yes, they accept. But there is a separate approval procedure for such applications

About three years ago I tried to submit an application for text encryption. The algorithm was its own, standard and third-party libraries were not used. After a short correspondence with the support, they demanded from me a certificate of certification of my encryption algorithm in the USA. I did not receive it, the application never came out.

What if you use openssl? Does the permission apply if non-open algorithms are used?
